The meeting was convened to discuss Physical science curriculum of the proposed revision of Kerala B Ed curriculum 2013. Dr. K. Y Benedict, Subject Convener of Curriculum Committee called the meeting to order at 10.30 a.m. The meeting commenced with prayer and Dr. Rajeswari. K, Associate Professor, GCTE, Tvpm welcomed the members. The meeting was presided over by Dr. G. R Santhoshkumar, Chairman, Board of Studies. He summarized the proceedings of the previous meetings. 12 Teacher Educators in Physical Science from various colleges participated in the discussion. A tentative framework of the proposed Physical Science curriculum was drafted.

Development of science – India & abroad – contribution of scientists- women scientists – Kalpana Chawla, Sunitha Williams, Tessy Thomas, - Emerging branches of science -  Nanotechnology, Bio-informatics, Information technology, Geo informatics – Philosophy of science – science for sustainable development – nature of science

Science as an important subject – values of science and transactional potentiality – aims and objectives of learning Physical Science with respect to NCF, KCF. – Taxonomy – origin – Bloom’s taxonomy – revised form ( Anderson & Krathwohl) – Mc Cormack & Yager’s Taxonomy of Science Education – Technology integrated taxonomy – Collins – Process skills – Behavioural outcomes of process skills – Behavioural indicators

Teaching skills – selected teaching skills – set induction, reinforcement, explaining, illustrating with examples, questioning, probing questions, using chalk board, stimulus variation, silence and non-verbal cues, achieving closure

v  Lesson planning and practice of micro teaching skills are to be included in the pedagogy paper.
Physical Science convener of curriculum committee Dr. K. Y Benedict suggested to post further suggestions regarding theory and practicals of Physical science (1st & 2nd semester) through blog for later discussion.
Smt Anju, Assistant professor, GCTE thanked the members for their effective participation. The meeting was adjourned at 2.30 p.m.
